The Eagle Trace Subdivision is comprised of about 250 homes located on the slopes of Roxy Ann Peak in Medford, the eighth-largest city in the State of Oregon and the largest in the beautiful Rogue Valley. Medford's amenities include two large medical centers, an indoor shopping mall, many restaurants, small shops, and a myriad of entertainment venues. It also has fourteen elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools. The subdivision is just minutes away from many outdoor activities, including skiing, fishing, biking, boating, hiking, rafting, and more. A short drive will also get you to the breathtaking Crater Lake National Park, Oregon's only national park.
The Eagle Trace Home Owners' Association (ETHOA) helps to keep the subdivision safe and beautiful for everyone by keeping the community connected and providing a place for members' complaints or concerns to be heard. Home owners within the subdivision are encouraged to become members of ETHOA. They may register and join for an initial fee of $12.50 per person, per household. A maximum of two residents per household may become members.
ETHOA has elected officers consisting of a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, membership committee, members at large, architectural committee, and covenants, conditions, and restrictions (CC&Rs) committee. The Eagle Trace Subdivision is also active with the Medford Police Department (MPD) and is a member of the MPD Neighborhood Watch program.
ETHOA has a general meeting of members and officers every spring unless there is a need to conduct business at other times during the year. These meetings usually include nominations and voting for officers, as well as neighborhood information, breakfast, and door prizes. History
The construction of the Eagle Trace Subdivision (also known as the Sun Ranch Subdivision early on) started in 1989 at the west end of Eagle Trace Drive (which was a dead-end at the time). The subdivision quickly expanded in five phases during the following years and reached its present layout in 1994. As of 2016, there are 232 homes within the 78 acre subdivision, along with 4 vacant lots.
In 1996, neighbors banded together and formed the East Hills Home Owners' Association to discourage a proposal to construct a commercial business complex in the subdivision. The complex was planned to be on the northwestern corner of the eastern intersection of Eagle Trace Drive and Hillcrest Road. The association succeeded, and the complex was never built.
The East Hills Home Owners' Association was renamed the Eagle Trace Home Owners' Association (ETHOA) in July of 2001. ETHOA began not as a policing agency, but as a place for home owners to comment or express their concerns about the neighborhood or CC&Rs and to help mediate their disputes if necessary.
